Kia Steen is an Associate Professor of Education at George Mason University, where she also serves as the Early Childhood Internship Coordinator. Her research focuses on exploring developmentally appropriate practices that promote social, emotional, and academic success among children of color during the early years. Steen received her Doctorate of Education in International and Multicultural Education (IME) from the University of San Francisco.
