Courses & Registration

A live course takes place in real time and has a scheduled date and start time. Each session includes live Q&A with the presenter at the end, so you can ask questions, confirm your understanding, and leave with clear next steps.

All live courses include access to the on-demand recording after the event, so even if something comes up, you won't miss the content.

Please note: All course times are listed in Eastern Time.

A self-paced on-demand course is a recording of a previously live session that you can access on your own schedule. You can pause, replay, and work through the material at a pace that fits your day.

These courses provide clear explanations and practical guidance without the need to attend a scheduled session.

Visit the course product page and review the available options. Select the availability and choose the option that best fits your needs before adding it to your cart.

If you need help deciding, submit a request through the Customer Support Portal. If you're unable to access the portal, email support@careerlearning.com and we'll point you in the right direction.

After adding the course to your cart, review your cart and select "Add Registrant Information." Complete the registration form with the attendee's details so access and course communications go to the correct person.

Note: The quantity will automatically adjust based on the number of courses in your cart. If you have more than one registrant, you'll be prompted to complete registration details for each attendee.

We offer group registration discounts for organizations. Please submit a request through the Customer Support Portal so we can review your needs and help determine the best option.

You're welcome to share materials in a group setting for informational purposes with one registration. Please note:

  • Courses cannot be viewed from multiple locations at the same time using the same login.
  • Individuals who are not registered are not eligible to receive a certificate of completion or take final exams, if applicable.

Payment, Invoices & Purchase Orders

We accept all major credit cards and offer express checkout options including PayPal, Amazon Pay, Shop Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo.

Yes. Purchase orders are accepted for education providers and nonprofit organizations.

Once an approved purchase order is received, registration will be processed. An invoice that includes the purchase order number will be emailed when the order is fulfilled.

Discounts

We occasionally offer discount codes for select courses or promotions. Please note:

  • Discount and coupon codes may not be combined with other offers
  • Codes cannot be applied to past purchases
  • Codes cannot be applied to exam extensions or exam retakes
  • Ineligible discounts may be subject to payment collection or refund of the purchase

Course Credits

Most of our HR courses offer recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR through the HR Certification Institute, as well as PDCs for SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP.

Credit information is listed on the individual course description page.

To claim SHRM and HRCI credits, minimum watch-time requirements must be met. Exceptions cannot be made.

Exams & Certification

Yes. All certification courses include an exam at the end of the final session.

In most cases, you'll receive an email immediately after submitting your exam with your score.

A passing score is 80% or higher.

Examples:

  • Pass: 48/50 (96%)
  • Not passing: 39/50 (78%)

Exception – True/False exams: If your exam consists entirely of True/False questions, your score is not released immediately. These exams require a short review so we can confirm which questions were answered incorrectly and ensure scoring accuracy.

Once the review is complete:

  • If you pass, your exam will move forward for certification processing.
  • If you do not pass, you'll be notified and provided with next steps, including whether a retake is needed.

Exams are provided through Google Forms and are available after the final session.

  • Typically, each exam includes 10–15 questions per session, though this may vary by course. Example: A 5-session course may include 45–55 total questions.
  • Passing score: 80% or higher
  • Exams are not timed
  • If signed into a Gmail account, you may save your progress and return later
  • All exam submissions must meet deadline requirements
  • Live course purchases: 60 days from the final live session date
  • Self-paced on-demand purchases: 60 days from the purchase date

Yes. Exam extensions are available for purchase for $55.

Extensions allow up to a maximum total completion window of four months (120 days).

After 120 days, certification processing closes permanently and exams can no longer be accepted. This follows the standard used across the industry.

No. Your course videos and materials remain available for 2 full years.

Each certification includes one exam attempt.

If a passing score is not achieved on the first attempt, you may purchase a Certification Exam Retake, which provides one additional attempt for the same certification exam.

A Certification Exam Retake includes one additional attempt at the same certification exam. It applies only to the original certification and must be completed within the retake eligibility period outlined in the certification requirements.

No. Certification Exam Retakes are available only after an unsuccessful exam attempt.

No. The Certification Exam Retake applies only to the same certification exam associated with the original purchase.

Certificates & Digital Credentials

Certificates and digital badges are emailed within 5–7 business days after exam submission, once all requirements are met.

Requirements include:

  • Passing score of 80% or higher
  • Exam deadline met
  • For HR certifications, full session viewing as required by SHRM and HRCI

Use our online Credential Retrieval Tool. Enter the email address you used when earning your credential and select "Retrieve My Credentials."

A digital credential is a secure, verifiable representation of your achievement. It's always accessible online, easy to share, and tamper-proof.

You can share it on LinkedIn, add it to your resume or email signature, download a printable PDF, and manage privacy settings.

Your credential will remain visible but will be marked as expired.

To renew, submit a request through the Customer Support Portal. If you're unable to access the portal, email support@careerlearning.com and our team will follow up.

When renewal is due, purchase the current version of the course, complete the content, and pass the updated exam. Your renewed certification will be valid for 2 more years.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We've got you. All live courses include access to the on-demand recording after the event, so you won't miss the content.

  • 3 or more business days before the start date: Reschedule at no cost, based on availability
  • Less than 3 business days before the start date: A $50 rescheduling fee applies

Missed the cutoff? No problem. You can still reschedule for $50, based on availability.

Refunds

Starting from the date of purchase, attendees have 30 days to request a refund, as long as the course has not been accessed.

After 30 days, refunds are no longer available. At that point, attendees may request a catalog credit to apply toward another course.

Some states have specific refund requirements. If applicable, those policies are listed on the state's requirements page.
